On First Saturday, March 1st, we began with our normal Adoration, available Confession, Rosary and Mass. We then had breakfast and fellowship, and then prepared meals that went to our brothers and sisters on the streets in Saint Paul, MN. We found these food containers on a good deal, by a VERY friendly person on Ebay (sending us Scripture quotes in emails back and forth). We are pleased to have secured these food containers that will let us bring out more options to our brothers and sisters on the streets as part of the Morning of Mercy - to bring hot soups in March, and cold items come summer! Search online for more history of the $1000 bill, which is still technically legal tender but since 1969 banks are required to send them back to the Treasury, so mostly now kept as collectibles. Following Adoration, Rosary, available Confession and Mass, we meet for breakfast and fellowship. We prepare the sandwiches, heat the homemade soup by one of our disciples, make homemade hot chocolate, and take our food and supplies (including clothes and first aid supplies) to the streets to show love and Mercy, remembering "We love because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19). For our seeming drop in the ocean of challenges and near despair, we remember, as St. Faustina wrote, of the One who descended from heaven and earth and allowed Himself to be pierced with a lance, so that the source of mercy is opened wide for each of us. Indeed, it was reflected while we were there that while our work may seem insignificant and we will not solve #homelessness or addiction, or #mentalillness with a meal, there is only participating in the Incarnation.
